Globinar: The Importance of Education for a Global Career

The Global Chamber is co-hosting an important debate with reesmarx.

This is a debate on education necessity (4-year+ degrees from colleges), and we will not be speaking of Doctors, Engineers, etc. …this will be focused on more business-minded roles (ie Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc.).

Biographies

Milo Skene is the Head of International at E2E. E2E is a community of 24,000 entrepreneur members. E2E helps its founders scale their businesses. Members have included: eToro, Cobra, OakNorth Bank, WorldPay, Virgin, and Trustpilot. Formerly Milo was the Latin American Dealmaker at The Department for International Trade on The Global Entrepreneur Programme. Milo still works as an advisor and consultant to Latin American companies entering the UK market. This includes Rua Assistance – an Uruguayan company providing assistance and insurance for companies’ customers, Inmolecule – an established company from Mexico that protects against infectious germs using nanotechnology, and Jade Autism – a Brazilian founded app to help the development of children with Down Syndrome, Autism and ADHD.

Milo is also a founder of a boutique career change business, called 18-07 Careers (all 3 founders were born on the 18th of July). Prior to this, he worked as a Management Consultant in Financial Services, including time with HSBC, Barclays, and RBS. Milo was in the British Army for 12 years. As well as going on UN and NATO missions he also trained, mentored, and coached over 1,000 people from the UK and Latin America for Counter Insurgency Operations across the globe.

Yvan Demosthenes is the CEO at Hamilton Demo. Yvan is a Sales Professional with more than 20 years of experience, 16 years in Talent Acquisition and Recruiting. His career has covered various Sales and Management roles. During his career, he has attained several awards from GE, CareerBuilder, Monster.com, and others. Yvan has helped companies of all sizes with their online advertising, technology integration, diversity recruiting efforts, and overall recruiting strategies. He has also had the pleasure of placing executives and emerging leaders into some of the most recognized companies. He received his BS from the University Of Cincinnati, his MBA from Thomas More University, received his Leadership Training from Harvard Business School and has his D&I Certification from Cornell.  Yvan lives in Cincinnati, OH with his wife and 3 kids and is a Parishioner at Guardian Angels Church in the community of Anderson. He is active in nonprofits and enjoys coaching youth sports. He is currently a Thomas More University Alumni Board Member.

Paul Rafferty is President of Piedmont Sales Advisors. He serves as a Fractional Vice President of Sales and Executive Coach, helping small businesses and mid-market companies achieve breakthrough Sales Growth, Discipline, and Accountability. Previously, Paul founded Sales Engine Media to which brought Fortune 500 best practices in the sales process, sales operations, and demand-generation to funded SMBs and mid-market companies. Sales Engine was listed as an Inc. 5000 fastest growing company in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Paul was also the National Vice President, Sales Operations for Fortune 200 Company, guiding a nationwide Sales Team of over 700 Sales Professionals. His first job was as a Naval Officer on the USS Sea Devil, a nuclear-powered attack submarine out of Charleston, SC. Paul is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and lives in Denver, NC.

Stephen Earls – Global Business Development Executive with reesmarx. Stephen has been supporting companies’ global growth for two and half years with reesmarx. He is responsible for consulting with companies for international expansion needs. As well as, strategizing the best ways to penetrate local labor markets to identify and attract the best talent. He feels as though he did not choose recruitment, rather than recruitment chose him, and would not change it for any other career or company. He feels that reesmarx perfectly encapsulates his global mindset having previously lived in São Paulo, Brazil, and very soon hoping to lead the company’s expansion into Continental Europe. Stephen is currently based in London, UK; and graduated from the University of Southampton with a First in Modern Languages (French, German, and Portuguese).

Ericha Hartz – Global Partnership Director at reesmarxEricha Hartz holds the role of Global Partnership Director for reesmarx. She is responsible for developing Partnerships, Sales, and Channel Operations, as well as implementing our direct sales strategy globally. Ericha brings valuable experience and insights to her role. Prior to her promotion, she fulfilled the role of Senior Resourcing Partner for reesmarx, where she was responsible for researching, managing and delivering global recruitment projects in over 30 countries. In her role as Global Partnership Director, she implements and manages Partner activities, identify new opportunities and define the actions required to bring a new dynamic to our business model. Ericha resides in North Carolina, United States and graduated from the University of East Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Marketing.
