Announcing New Strategic Partnership with Cove: U.S. Business Expansion Success Agents

The reesmarx global recruiting and resourcing team is internationally recognized as a provider of strategic services for technology organizations worldwide.  With central offices located in London, and Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, reesmarx supports businesses, brands and SME’s from resourcing hubs located in New York, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Dubai and Singapore.

Businesses, brands and SMEs centered in APAC and EMEA are often confronted with unique obstacles when formulating a US expansion strategy.  A central obstacle to US expansion is sourcing quality personnel for new manufacturing or service-based businesses. While reesmarx has for years seamlessly overcome that obstacle, additional US expansion hurdles may delay or impede expansion.  Some of those immediate obstacles include, legal, regulatory, marketing, and other unique cultural differences which could significantly increase complexity and expenses for US expansion.

To better serve reesmarx international clients and the growing need for consulting and B2B support in global expansion, reesmarx has signed a strategic partnership with COVE.   COVE was founded in 2016 by Christopher McHattie, the founding partner of The McHattie Law Firm, a New Jersey & Florida, U.S.A. and Dublin, Ireland specializing in corporate law, intellectual property and litigation services.

COVE draws on its extensive business expansion and dispute resolution experience to provide an efficient, safe and successful mentorship to businesses expanding into the United States.  The strategic consulting team at COVE provides turn-key solutions to help businesses seamlessly achieve US and international expansion, with minimal negative impact on personal (management) or enterprise resources. The COVE-reesmarx partnership allows businesses to “pick and choose” from a menu of services.  The business can choose to: (i) utilize its own internal resources; (ii) COVE services; or (iii) either of the foregoing, with reesmarx providing permanent employee solutions over time.

“While there are many ‘How To Do Business in the US’ resources available online,” explains McHattie, “there is no substitute for local knowledge and experience, particularly local knowledge that is available locally to the business. The idea of COVE is to provide to foreign entities and entrepreneurs that same “local knowledge” inherently available to US companies and to guide high-potential foreign businesses and their owners through each step of the process. Rather than America’s unique and at times intricate marketplace business practices and laws being obstacles, Cove turns them into advantages against those without the “local knowledge.”

Ray Tomasco, the co-founder of reesmarx USA, along with Glyn Rees, shared how businesses can traverse obstacles using an experienced global expansion team.

“One of the biggest barriers that exist when expanding internationally is understanding human resources laws and business practices in other countries. We see expanding companies often needing to on board new team members across several disciplines quickly and effectively, often putting compensation packages together with a short lead time. Our global expansion team (combing the expertise of COVE and reesmarx) will help clients to mitigate employment risks and liabilities in the USA through a single, dedicated Legal and HR structure. This one-stop shop service is personal and tailored to lead your organization to achieving its international goals.”

Are You Hiring a Country or a Person? Why This Question Could Make or Break Your Global Hiring Strategy

When expanding globally, companies often overlook a pivotal distinction: are they hiring a country or hiring a person? This seemingly subtle question carries profound operational consequences. A country-first approach demands infrastructure, legal setup, and long-term investment, while a person-first mindset emphasizes speed, flexibility, and role-specific expertise—often enabled by Employer of Record (EOR) solutions. Misalignment in this choice can result in compliance missteps, wasted resources, and strategic drift. By asking the right question early, organizations can build smarter, faster, and more resilient global hiring strategies.
